Sep 03, 2009· If there is one fault I can find with the PT 1911, it is its finish Its bluing is a rather muddy matte black with enormous “Taurus” and “PT 1911” legends lasered into the sides of the slide I have seen photos of a protoype PT 1911 in polished stainless steel and it looks quite nice, but the blued version is just plain ugly.

Mar 31, 2017· The only problem with putting bottom metal on a Montana is kimber only makes steel bottom metal and it's heavy at 6+ ounc My plan is to buy some Winchester 70 aluminum with the oberndorf style release from PT&G and modify it by 1/8" to fit If it works I'll save over 4 ounc.

Feb 02, 2011· Just came back from my first SCI show Overwhelmed was the only word I could think of to describe this show I stopped by the Kimber booth and looked at an 84L with the French Walnut(Because the $34,000 custom rifles were a dollar or two beyond my budget) I happened to mention to Dwight VanBrunt that they could sell me another Kimber if they would chamber it in 280.

Dec 13, 2009· i own a the pt so far so good i have shot a kimber and i didnt really tell a diffthe kimber has a better finsh and is more tight the pt is a gun you can carry and not have to worry about getting your pretty gun dirty also it is loose so dirt or cheap rounds have a easy time leaving the gun bottom line if i am droping that much csah down i.
